About the role
We’re looking for an experienced, motivated, and people-focused Shift Supervisor to join our coffee shop team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys connecting with both customers and coworkers, and takes pride in maintaining smooth operations during their shift.
As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll lead by example—ensuring every latte, pastry, and smile meets our high standards. You’ll oversee daily operations, support baristas, handle cash management, and help create a welcoming, efficient environment for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Supervise and motivate baristas during shifts to maintain productivity and morale.
Provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback to ensure consistent service quality.
Lead pre-shift meetings and delegate tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
Customer Experience:
Model exceptional service by engaging warmly with customers and resolving concerns quickly.
Ensure all drinks and food items are prepared according to company standards and presentation guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming atmosphere at all times.
Operational Duties:
Open and close the store according to company policies, including cash handling, inventory counts, and safety procedures.
Monitor supply levels and assist with inventory ordering and restocking.
Ensure compliance with food safety, cleanliness, and workplace safety standards.
Administrative Support:
Assist in scheduling, timekeeping, and daily reporting.
Train new hires on store policies, procedures, and best practices.
Communicate shift performance, staffing needs, and customer feedback to the store manager.
Qualifications
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a café, restaurant, or retail supervisory role.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and lead a team in a high-energy environment.
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
